      Sunil Gavaskar escapes unhurt in Jaguar accident in England

      Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar considers himself lucky to have escaped unhurt in a road accident while traveling from Manchester to London in a Jaguar. Reportedly, Mark Nicholas, Cricket commentator was also travelling in the same car and was seated at the front beside the driver. Gavaskar's London based friend Chandresh Patel was seated beside him at the back.

      It had been raining heavily and Jaguar had been traveling at high speeds. Minutes before the accident Gavaskar had reportedly asked the driver of the car to be careful, but soon after they saw a car approaching them from the opposite direction. The driver immediately swerved right to avoid colliding with the oncoming car, but the on-coming vehicle hit the side section before halting. The Jaguar is reportedly badly damaged in the accident, but the occupants have been unharmed.

      As stated by Mid-Day, post reaching London Gavaskar said, “My God! God has saved us. There was torrential rain and our car was being driven very fast. Thankfully, no one was hurt although the accident was very, very scary.” The Jaguar post the accident was not fit to proceed with the journey and the occupants had to walk-down to East Midland Parkway railway station and take a train back to London. Though shaken from the accident, they are happy to have survived the accident and reach home unharmed.

      Jaguar
