Amid fierce competition in domestic market, the proverb ‘survival of the fittest’ suits perfectly well. Though market condition has improved and with the government’s decision of extending excise duties levied during interim budget has made the auto makers positive towards achieving growth in terms of sales. In a bid to sustain competition, auto makers are either coming with the facelifted versions of their popular vehicles or rolling out new vehicles. However, launching a new vehicle after every while is an extremely tedious process, facelift versions are worked upon comparatively much easier. Rumours have been humming for a while that Tata Motors is developing a facelift version of Safari Storme. Launched in India in 2012, the vehicle is ready to undergo knife. The company lately launched Explorer edition of the SUV but that also could not create any magic.

Sources have revealed that the vehicle is likely to sport insignificant cosmetic changes. A heavily concealed test mule was also spotted undergoing test runs of late, but nothing much could be inferred from that too. Currently no details have been revealed on the facelift version, but auto experts are of the opinion that Tata may also extend modifications to the interiors of the vehicle. Among the preeminent changes, we can expect mechanical changes, the 2.2 litre VarCOR diesel engine housed in the current generation Safari Storme could be retuned to deliver higher power output of 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque like in the new Aria.

More details will be revealed on the vehicle in upcoming time, currently there is no information on the time line by when the SUV could be rolled out.
