Czech car manufacturer Skoda will introduce the new generation 2015 Fabia hatchback by the end of this year in global markets. It is expected to make its Indian debut by the second half of 2015. The vehicle was speculated to be based on the shorter version of the immensely popular VW’s MQB platform which also underpin the new generation Volkswagen Polo and Swat Ibiza.
The new generation Fabia will feature Skoda’s new design language. It is expected to get a wide front grille which is complemented by larger angular shaped headlamps, and LED tail lamps at the rear. If media reports to believe, the company will retain the same broad styling till C-pillar; however, the vehicle will get a completely redesigned rear.
The new Skoda Fabia is likely to be longer and wider than the current generation model, which in return offers roomy interiors and extra luggage space. The company has stopped the production of the current generation Fabia; however, the company is selling hatchback to exhaust the remaining stock. The new model is expected to get the new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.4-litre 3-cylinder TDI turbo diesel engine.
