The interweb is abuzz with the news of Skoda presenting facelifts on two of its models this year i.e Skoda Fabia and Skoda Rapid. The 2014 Skoda Fabia will be an all new model with compelling revisions. The current generation Skoda Fabia was launched in 2007 and received a mid-life facelift in 2010.
Given that, it is quite obvious that Skoda fans are eagerly looking forward to the next generation since the Fabia is almost 7 years old now. From what we know, it will be priced to take on the likes of the Suzuki Swift and will be powered by both, a petrol and diesel mill, the same as the one found under the hood of the current generation of the Fabia.
And since Skoda India seems to be in a mood to refresh its entire lineup, the next in line is the Skoda Rapid. But before the sedan receives the facelift in 2014, the Czech carmaker will first launch the Skoda Rapid Ultima, the final edition of the current generation Skoda Rapid.
While the Skoda Rapid is due for a facelift somewhere in the second quarter of 2014, the Ultima's purpose is to retain the buzz till the full-fledged facelift is launched. Mechanically speaking, the car will remain the same. However, it will get a few new exterior features in accordance with Skoda’s new family face: new head lamps, new bumper, and grille and bonnet design. The car is also expected to feature some important interior alterations.
