Truly they say technology is improvising at the speed of the light year. The fact was proven once again when Audi announced the launch of its self-driven model A7. The car supposedly runs on automated driving technology. The International Consumer Electronics Show 2015 will witness enthusiasts driving the awesome Audi A7 from Silicon Valley, California to Las Vegas, Nevada. The Board Member of Audi, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg believes that the drive of this car at International CSE 2015 will showcase their grip on piloted driving.
The concept of this test drive was introduced by the Volkswagen Electronics Research Laboratory and Volkswagen Group Research and Development. The journalists took a test drive of the vehicles that aren’t yet released in the market, but are ready for it. The distance covered in the drive is of 550 miles, which approximately makes it to 900 kilometres.
Since Audi A7 is incorporated with the piloted driving technology, it puts several additional sensors into use. The Audi Side Assist sensor (ASA) is meant for keeping a keen watch on the rear end movement of the vehicle. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is another sensor that senses long range radar signals. These sensors are mainly dedicated to provide detailed information regarding the static as well as dynamic objects which come in the way during piloted driving mode. Hi-resolution 3D video camera is the additional incorporation in the vehicle along with four tiny cameras used at rear and font ends.
