The American car-maker Ford has unveiled a fresh face of its Fiesta sedan at the recently heldAuto Expo 2014 event. The new Ford sedan has only received some interesting cosmetic upgrades this time around. The cars from the Korean carmaker Hyundai features smooth flowing design based on its Fluidic design philosophy.
The recently launched Xcent sedan from Hyundai reflects designing effort with a revised front and rear bumpers. The sedan has provision for LED lights and touchscreen entertainment unit with Bluetooth connectivity. The recently unveiled sedan is powered by either 1.2 Litre kappa dual VTVT petrol or 1.1 Litre U2 technology diesel engine. As per sources, the car may also be available with an automatic transmission apart from a regular manual version. The car is placed in straight line of competition with the likes of Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. The interiors get a dash of dual tone black and beige interior, push button start has been smartly positioned, electro chromic mirror acts as a rear display for rear camera. Safety factor has been given due importance by the Korean car-maker. The production version of Xcent is loaded with Anti-lock braking system, rear defogger, dual airbags, central locking, rear parking assist and central locking. Hyundai Xcent has been launched in the Indian market with an attractive price tag of 4.66 Lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). The diesel version is offered at a starting price of Rs 5.56 lakh.
The Fiesta sedan from Ford has retained the existing 1.5 Litre petrol engine that generates a decent 108 Ps of power, whereas the diesel version generates about 90 Ps of power. The petrol engine has been mated to 5 speed manual transmission and 6 speed automatic transmission. For now, the diesel version shall only be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. Interior dimensions largely remain unchanged in the new Ford Fiesta sedan. The interior sports a two tone shades, new seat fabric enhances the overall ride quality of its occupants. Applink sync connectivity system has been used in this fresh lot. This allows drivers to use voice commands to play their favorite music, controlling mobile application and making phone calls. Moreover, Ice Blue lighting on the switches, dials and displays gives it a distinctive appeal. On the exterior front, the car features trapezoidal grille that gives it a sportier stance. The headlamps are smoothly crafted to flow into the sides of this car and the bigger bonnet gives it a muscular stance. At the rear, the tails lights have been tweaked to make it look bigger and bolder. Ford has not officially revealed the pricing for this car. Currently Ford has been giving out heavy discounts on its vehicles across segments. The exact pricing for the Fiesta sedan may be revealed at a later date and is expected to be known post release in the Indian market sometime this year.
