The finer details have not yet been confirmed, either by the media or by the company. However, there are reports that one will use a 410 cc mono-cylinder, overhead cam engine, while the other is ready to sport a 750 cc parallel-twin unit. It has been reported that one of the three models will be based on this single-cylinder base and will sport a scrambler-style look. Earlier, it had been reported that the Chennai-based company had requested to trademark the ‘Himalayan’ name in Europe. It is expected that the brand will use this moniker on the new scrambler bike.

Incidentally, the current range of the motorcycle manufacturer is in harmony with the necessities of the Indian audience. However, the export numbers are still considerably low. Royal Enfield has an aim of becoming the global leader in the segment of mid-sized motorcycles. As a result of this reason, the company has started aggressively expanding the production capacity and operations on a large scale. In this aspect, the company had acquired a 50-acre plot near Chennai in Vallam Vadagal, to boost its production numbers. Pierre Terblanche, the ex-Ducati designer and Simon Warburton, Triumph Project manager, was also hired by the company to realise its aim in the long run.
