Royal Enfield Continental GT is set to be launched in the Indian market on 26th November 2013. This bike, which was first showcased at 2012 Auto Expo, has been already launched in the United Kingdom. Notably, the company is going to launch this new feature-rich bike at an event that will be held in Goa. This all-new Cafe Racer inspired model got a lot of attention from auto aficionados after it was showcased at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo. Interestingly, the company is claiming that this bike is going to be its fastest production motorcycle. Reportedly, this bike also boasts of being Royal Enfield’s first Cafe Racer in around 60 years. As per reports, the price of this high-end bike is likely to be between Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 2.5 lakh.

The upcoming bike is expected to be powered by a fuel injected engine with a displacement of 535 cc. This mill will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox and can produce a power output of around 29 bhp with torque of up to 44 Nm. Continental GT, according to sources, is expected to offer a fuel economy of around 25-30 kmpl. It comes with a low profile fuel tank, which has a capacity of 13.5 litres with knee recesses. The driver's seat is a flat unit with slight bulging at the rear, adding to its comforts level. This bike also features Paioli twin gas charged absorbers at rear and bar end rear view mirrors.

It must be noted that Royal Enfield has witnessed a sales increase of around 30 per cent in recent times, as claimed by statistics. As per industry experts, with the launch of Continental GT, this trend is going to get a huge boost. Furthermore, the launch of this bike in the Indian automobile market is likely to promote other two-wheeler makers to come with their exclusive high-end vehicles in order to lure domestic customers. Interestingly, the demand for luxury motorcycles has been rising in India, which is the reason why world known brands are expanding their operations in the country.
