      Riding high with Brio, Honda Siel looks forward to register 10-15 percent growth in FY11-12

      Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCIL), the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese auto giant Honda Motors, is looking forward to register a 10 to 15 percent growth in sales in the financial year 2011-12. The company is expecting good sales numbers from its recently launched mass segment car Honda Brio.

      While speaking to the reporters at the occasion of the launch of new compact hatchback Honda Brio in the city of Kolkata, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd's Director (Sales and Marketing) Seki Inaba said, "We had sold 60,000 units in India last fiscal. We are expecting a sales growth of 10 to 15 per cent in this fiscal in the country." He added that the company thinks Brio will generate incremental effect in its sales volume this fiscal.

      HSCIL has registered a fall of 18 percent in the sales during the month of September, as compare to the units sold in the same month last year.

      The newly launched Honda Brio is receiving a good response from the buyers in the Indian market. Delivering a peak power of 88 bhp, and equipped with a range of new age features, the Brio is expected to drive high volume sales for the Japanese car maker in the Indian market. The company has priced the car competitively in the rage of Rs 3.95 to 5.10 lakhs, thanks to the localizations level of over 80 percent in the manufacturing of Brio. The Brio is currently being produced at the Grater Noida plant of the company.
