      Renault Twizy, the cute plug-in electric city car, has entered into a new role of pizza delivery vehicle in United Kingdom (UK). The stylish and uber-cool Twizy is a compact electric car, which can comfortably seat two persons and is used by the popular global fast food chain, Domino's Pizza.

      The electricity powered Renault Twizy is officially classified as a heavy quadricycle in Europe and manufactured entirely at the French auto major's assembly unit in Valladolid, Spain. Interestingly, during the first half of calendar year 2012, the cute Twizy was reported as the top selling plug-in electric vehicle in several European auto markets. As per reports, some 8,731 units of Renault Twizy were sold between March and November 2012 with most sales in Germany, Italy and France.

      Industry experts believe that Renault Twizy will finds its customers in the form of extremely busy and already car owning city residents, who wish for owning a second vehicle in their garage. Twizy is a great option for short driving needs, like a regular trip to-and-from local shopping plaza. The company believes its Twizy could also appeal to young drivers who wish for a safe and fun alternative to learn driving by using a car that does not require a valid licence.

      The Renault Twizy is offered with an electric motor capable of developing 17 bhp of maximum power and delivering torque output of 57 Nm. The Twizy variant that requires a valid driving licence could reach a top speed of 80 kmph, whereas 'Twizy 45' requires no license to drive and can reach a best speed of 45 kmph. The cool two person seating plug-in electric car is powered with a 6.1 kWh lithium-ion batteries, which entails it to have a range of 100 km over a standard urban cycle.
