Renault to debut Megane RS at Monaco

Renault has released a teaser of a camouflaged Megane RS test mule being put through its phases at a circuit. It previews an aggressively designed front end with unique daytime running lights on the front bumper. A Renault head honcho was quoted as saying that the new Megane RS will churn out 300bhp, although the engine configuration is still a mystery. Reports suggest that it might get a more powerful version of the 1.8-litre four-pot motor from the Alpine A110.

A new update will be the EDC dual-clutch automatic gearbox from the Clio RS, although a six-speed manual box will be offered in as an option. The engine sends power to the front wheels. Post its unveiling at Monaco, the Megane RS will be showcased directly at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
