      Renault introduces the Petrol Variant of Pulse in India

      On 11th May 2012, Renault India, which is owned fully by French automotive giant Renault, announced the launch of its premium hatchback, Pulse's petrol model in the Indian car market. The Pulse was revealed at Delhi Auto Expo 2012 by Renault India in two trim levels with 1.5 litres K9K diesel engine under the hood.

      “Pulse is a mass market product for India, designed and developed at our design studio in Mumbai, has always been an important product for Renault India. We are highly pleased with the product’s performance and it has been well accepted by the Indian customers. The new PULSE petrol is a product launched for our Indian customers and it will help Renault to broaden its customer base and cater to customers who are looking for a comfortable premium hatch with a competitive price tag,” said Managing Director (MD), Renault India Private Limited, Marc Nassif.

      The company's philosophy to bring affordable cars featuring innovative technology together with sporty and dynamic design is recapitulated by the Pulse. Designed at Renault's design studio in Mumbai, the car comes with a number of user friendly and innovative features.

      The petrol variant of the model runs on an online, 3 cylinder, 1198 cc, DOHC, 12 valve unit which is one of the best in terms of mileage and performance. As per Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), mileage attained by Pulse is 18.06 kmpl. The engine can belt out power of 74 bhp at 6000 rpm and highest torque of 104 Nm at 4000 rpm. It is complimented by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new petrol engine is also manufactured at Renault-Nissan manufacturing plant in Oragadam near Chennai, along with its predecessor Pulse diesel K9K engine.

      Targeting the young and ambitious Indian customers, the all new petrol variant of Pulse will come in three variants namely RxE, RxL and RxZ. The peak model, RxZ boasts of dual air bags ensuring safety of both the driver and the passenger, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) coupled with Electronic Break force Distribution (EBD) and illuminated start/stop button for the engine. Other features are fold-able side mirrors, climatronics, smart access key, rear defogger with timer, and front fog lens.

      The Pulse-RxL model comes with a driver side airbag, electronic power steering, front and rear power windows, central locking system, air conditioning, integrated audio system, rear wiper and washer and automatic headlights control among others.

      RxE model of Pulse has driver airbag, electronic power steering, central locking, air conditioning and follow-me headlamps. Adding stability to the ride are McPherson struts in the front and coil springs in the rear of the car.

      Pearl White, Metallic Red, Solid Black, Metallic Silver, Metallic Grey and Champagne Gold

      are the colour options available in the new Pulse. The all new petrol variant will cost Rs. 4,25,000 for the RxE model, Rs. 4,99,000 for the RxL version and Rs. 555,000 for the RxZ variant ( ex-showroom, New Delhi).

      Renault Complete Care package offering warranty for 2+2 year or 80,000 Km whichever ends first is offered. Other benefits like Concierge services, 24X7 roadside assistance, and Navigation assistance are provided with the new Pulse petrol too, just like other models from Renault India.
