According to a report, Renault India is planning to introduce the 2015 Duster facelift with an automatic transmission by the end of this year. The new Renault Duster facelift will receive minimal cosmetic changes that are likely to be market-specific. The report further claims that the new facelifted model will borrow some styling cues from the Duster Adventure Edition, which was launched in February 2014.

The India-bound 2015 Duster facelift will feature silver skid front and rear plates, fog lights with blacked out surrounds, revised body cladding and smoked wheels. Though, the most substantial change will come in the form of an automatic transmission. The new model will feature a 6-speed dual clutch box – the Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) – that will be available only on the 2WD (two-wheel drive) variants. No other mechanical changes have been reported.

Powering the Duster facelift will be the same 1.6-litre K4M petrol and 1.5-litre dCi diesel engines that do duty on the existing model. The former puts out a maximum power of 102.53bhp and 148Nm of torque, while the latter one offers 108.45bhp and 245Nm. The diesel mill will be coupled with a 4WD (four-wheel drive) system that will challenge the FWD (front-wheel drive) Hyundai Creta.

Upon its launch, the 2015 Renault Duster facelift with automatic transmission will take on the newly launched Hyundai Creta AT (with a conventional 6-speed automatic gearbox), and the Mahindra Scorpio AT.
