Range Rover Sport gets more efficient with new petrol and diesel engines

The Range Rover Sport is known for its sporty credentials however for 2017, Land Rover has decided to make it more efficient. The British marquee, in fact, has added new Ingenium powertrain to the 2017 Range Rover Sport line-up.  

 

For 2017 MY Range Rover Sport, there’s a new 2-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine, manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover’s own engine plant in Wolverhampton.  Already available on both Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, Ingenium is the company’s new breed of engine that focuses on efficiency and yet delivers a 0-100kmph time of 8 seconds.

UK customers will also have the option of going for the 3-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine from 2017 MY. The supercharged V6 achieves 340bhp and 450Nm of torque and delivers a 0-100kmph time of 7.1seconds.  

In addition to new engines, Land Rover is also offering a series of semi-autonomous driving technologies to the Range Rover Sport. Advanced Tow Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Intelligent Speed Limiter work alongside existing features to elevate driver aids to a greater level of convenience and safety.  

Land Rover has announced that the 2017 MY Range Rover Sport will be available later this year, with prices starting from £59,700 (Rs 52.44 lakh) for the 2-litre SD4 HSE trim.
