Porshce India is looking at entering the pre-owned car market in India. The German sports car maker is seriously contemplating its options to enter the used car market segment in India which is currently pre-dominated by unorganised dealers. It is planning to boost its operations in the Indian car market which reflects promising growth in the coming years.

"We are looking at launching Porsche pre-owned car programme in India next year," said Rod Wallace, managing director, Porsche India. He also added that the company will also aim at building a brand image as well as increase its customers base in the country. "This will attract more potential customers who till now looked at Porsche cars little less affordable," he added.

Porsche already runs similar set ups in other countries and plans to start its similar venture in India as well. The used cars will be refurbished by Porsche India and then will be sold to the Indian customers along with the company warranty.

Other luxury car makers like BMW also run similar programmes like BMW Premium but it is not available in India. Porsche sold 101 cars in the calendar year and plans to sell nearly 200 cars this year. According to the market analysts, the company may succeed in such a venture as the customers would prefer buying a luxury car from the company rather than an unauthorised dealer.
