Porsche India, the Volkswagen Group's luxury car manufacturer, seems to be on a spree of sorts to expand its sales network in India. The German carmaker inaugurated its latest showroom in Gurgaon, a move that is said to be a part of its strategy to increase foothold in India's automobile market. Opened during the weekend, Porsche India is now looking to enhance its presence in Eastern region of the country as well to spread its reach within the country.
Currently, the company has showrooms in 8 cities, namely, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Anil Reddi, Director, Porsche India, said, "While Porsche Centre Gurgaon is our newest showroom, we are all set to open another contemporary facility soon in Mumbai which will be followed later this year by a new one at Kolkata."
Talking about the Gurgaon showroom, he further added, "The facility offers 10,900 sq ft space across two levels with display space for up to 15 cars and the world-class showroom is a tangible example of the commitment that Porsche has for the Indian market". Located at Golf Course road, the work on Porsche Centre Gurgaon showroom was initiated way back in June 2012. The showroom also houses a separate fitting lounge, where customers will be able to check the various individualisation programme options for their Porsche vehicles. Other dedicated areas include an in-shop, that will retail Porsche's merchandise, and there a car delivery area.
