Renowned Italian scooter-maker Piaggio caught quite a lot of eyeballs at the February held 2014 Auto Expo event with the Vespa 946. Stunning design and most unique styling makes this scooter a league apart from the rest. You would like to be seated before we say it – the Vespa 946 is expected to be launched at an astonishing price tag of around Rs. 8 – 9 Lakhs! The scooter shall be imported straight from Italy to the Indian market, which is one of the reasons that make it pricey for the Indian market.

The Vespa 946 from Piaggio shall be powered by 125 cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, fuel-injected petrol engine that generates about 11.7 Bhp of power at 8500 Rpm and a peak torque of about 10.3 Nm at 7000 Rpm. The scooter's body structure sits on an aluminum monocoque structure thereby making it lighter in weight. Power is transmitted to rear wheels via CVT automatic transmission. Safety factor has also been given due importance by the Italian scooter-maker. The Vespa 946 is loaded with ASR traction control system and the front and the rear wheel gets disc brakes. ABS system comes as a standard feature in this scooter.

On the exterior, the scooter is loaded with all the curves that can get you spellbound with its beauty. The one piece wave style seat is also something to watch out for. The fully digital dashboard reads out all the vital information, the headlamps get LED fitments along with the indicators and tail lights.

Piaggio had recently launched the Vespa LX, Vespa S and Vespa VX for the Indian market. The Vespa 946 may not sell like the current lot, but may find a few takers who shall be smitten by this beauty.
