Nissan, the Japanese car manufacturer, has released a teaser image of the Sway concept, which is set to make its global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March. The concept previews the next generation Micra supermini in European specification.
Going by the teaser, we believe that the next-generation Micra will get an all-new design, which is significantly different from the existing model. However, the production version Micra will be slightly tweaked and will not look as dramatic as the concept. We believe that the next Micra will get better design offering a much-needed improvement over the current design.
The next generation Micra will be locally produced by Renault in France at the Filns factory located near Paris. Few reports suggest that the next hatchback will be based on the latest Clio hatchback and it will receive a different name to show that the hatchback is an entirely new product. Moreover, the hatchback could also spawn the modern CMF (Common Module Family) platform.
According to Nissan, "Sway is a glimpse at how a future generation of small Nissan models could look if the company's striking new design language was applied to a European hatchback."
If reports are to be believed, the next-gen Nissan Micra for Indian market will continue to feature the same V-Platform. Moreover, Nissan-Renault Alliance Chennai facility will not export the hatchback to other markets.
