      Nissan NV 200 Coming to India

      Nissan Motors is planning to bring its multi-utility vehicle NV200 to the Indian market. The car has already been in news and has also been spotted several times testing around Chennai. Nissan NV200 will be the first MPV from the Japanese auto maker in the Indian market and will be commercially available by 2012. The vehicle will compete with Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming MPV based on R3 concept and another low-end model from Toyota which will probably be the Toyota Avanza.

      The upcoming NV200 is expected to be powered by by a version of the Renault Logan‘s 1500 cc diesel engine. The re-tuned version of the engine would produce 85 hp, transmitted through a 5-speed gearbox. Torque is 200 Nm. The Nissan NV200 is 4.4m long, 1.86m, tall and 1.69m wide. Nissan claims that the car will carry aerodynamic styling to increase its fuel efficiency. The top end model will come with safety features like ABS, Brake Assist and EBD which are standard in Europe.

      Nissan NV200 is an award winning people carrier that bagged International Van of The Year Award 2010. It is capable of carrying 7 people and their complete luggage. There are no indications of price or final technical details about the model that will be launched in India.
