Nissan Motors has confirmed launching a diesel variant of its small car Micra in India. The diesel variant will hit the Indian roads before Christmas. Nissan Micra has been well taken by Indian customers and the company is quite buoyant with its success. In order to give strong competition in the small car segment, especially to Ford Figo and Maruti Swift, Nissan is soon going to launch a diesel model for the cost conscious Indian customers.

The new Nissan Micra diesel is expected to be powered by Renault Logan’s 1.5L CRDi engine which produces power of 65-70bhp and torque of 150-160 Nm giving a refined driving experience. The 5-seater hatchback in its petrol variant was earlier launched by the company in the month of July.

The diesel variant is expected to give a mileage of 20-25 kmpl which is quite competitive compared to other similar models in the segment. The diesel model is expected to have features similar to the petrol variant including keyless entry, start-stop button, etc.
