Toyota, the Japanese automaker will launch the next-generation Fortuner SUV in the Indian car market in 2016. The company has already started testing the vehicle, and will launch it in many markets including India. In fact, the final production model of the SUV has already been revealed to select audience. Ahead of its launch, the first image of the 2016 Fortuner SUV has now been leaked. Going by the picture, it is visible that the vehicle will get sharp styling. Featuring an edgier styling, the SUV features a pronounced kink on the window line ahead of the C-Pillar.
The vehicle gets narrow headlamps and more pronounced front bumper and air dam. The flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels. The car continues to feature the same tall stance. Based on the same 8th generation Hilux pick up truck platform, the latest generation SUV shares Toyota's New Generation Architecture (TNGA). The TNGA architecture will help the company achieve lower price.
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner is likely to get the same turbo diesel engine, along with both manual and automatic gearbox options. Both rear wheel and four-wheel drive version of the SUV will be on offer. Globally, the new Fortuner SUV is expected to be unveiled later this year. In India, the vehicle might be unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Motor Show.
