Nissan, the Japanese automaker, had unveiled the Nissan Sway concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. This model previews the next-generation Micra hatchback, which is likely to be launched in 2016-17. At the Geneva Show, the Sway concept grabbed good response from visitors and critics.

A speculative rendering of the next-generation Micra has hit the web world. The image borrows elements from the Sway Concept. The concept also previews the company's new design philosophy, which is likely to give the hatchback all-new exteriors and interiors.

The rendering features the V-motion grille up front, flanked by boomerang-shaped lamps. It has floating roofline, jagged-up C-pillar to meet the new design philosophy that resembles the Nissan Lannia concept that was showcased at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.

At the Geneva Show, Nissan said that the new Sway concept features a new design that is specifically developed to suit European markets. The Sway concept measures 4010mm in length, 1780mm in width, 1385mm in height, and it comes with a large wheelbase of 2570mm. The interior of the hatchback is inspired by the IDx concepts with a clean design and uncluttered layout. It is equipped with a lightweight seat that features an exposed aluminium structure and covered in suede-like fabric.

It is expected that the next-generation Nissan Micra will make its way to the Indian car market by 2017. If reports are to be believed, the India-bound Micra will continue to feature the same V-platform.
