The Indian arm of Volkswagen, a well appreciated German multinational automotive marque, has introduced a limited edition variant called ‘Style’ of its Vento mid-size sedan in the domestic car market. The new Volkswagen Vento Style model comes equipped with the uber-cool ‘Signature Chrome Package’ kit. The diesel trim of the limited Vento Style carries a price a price tag of Rs. 9.41 lakh, while the petrol version comes at a retail value of Rs. 8.33 lakh (all prices in the ex-showrooms of New Delhi).
Volkswagen’s Vento sedan and Polo premium hatchback remain its best selling models in the Indian auto market. The special edition Vento Style looks elegant and the Signature Chrome Package kit has added more to its premium feel. The kit comprises chrome badging on the dashboard, chrome tipped front grille, dual tone seats, reworked alloy wheels and stylish chrome doorstep finish. Further, the stunning sedan has several inspiring chrome touches in its exterior and interior settings.
Speaking of the under-the-hood specifications of limited edition Volkswagen Vento Style, the mid-size sedan is offered in both petrol and diesel powered options in the country. The petrol version of Vento Style comes fitted with a 1.6 litre engine that is rated with a maximum power output of 105 bhp, along with a peak torque delivery of 153 Nm. The Volkswagen Vento Style diesel model is powered by a 1.6 litre TDI power-mill that generates 105 bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of highest torque figure. Further, both petrol and diesel engine assemblies come mated with a 5 speed manual transmission systems
At present, the Volkswagen Vento competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki SX4, Hyundai Verna Fluidic, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, Ford Fiesta, Nissan Sunny and Renault Scala in the mid-size sedan segment of Indian auto market. It is going to be interesting to see if the special edition Vento Style is able to draw buyers from the segment leaders- City and Verna Fluidic.
