Nissan is ready with its latest V-platform in India. The company has specially developed this platform to produce cars for the developing markets. Nissan Micra is the latest model to roll out from this platform. During the launch of Nissan Micra, the company officials stated that the company will introduce the sedan model of the car by second quarter of 2011. This all new sedan has been christened as Affordable Sedan (L02B) in development phase. The model will be manufactured in Thailand and India based on the same V-platform and will imbibe similar looks and style as of its hatchback model. It is expected to come with a 1.6 litre XH series petrol engine & a more powerful version of the 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine. The diesel engine will be similar to the one in Logan or Micra. The sedan model may also feature CVT option similar to the hatchback model. Nissan Micra sedan model will pitted against Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Indigo Manza and priced above Rs. 6 lakh.
Nissan Micra hatchback model has already reached showrooms and the bookings have crossed 1000 mark in its first four weeks of opening of bookings.
