Mahindra's Scorpio has been leading the segment for years now and the latest one from the lot is further expected to strengthen its foundation in the local market. The all new Mahindra Scorpio that was launched recently comes with improved dynamics like 4,456 mm length, width of about 1820mm and height of about 1995 mm. The cabin space has also been improved in the newer version and the new SUV gets 60 Liters fuel tank capacity. Old records indicate that Mahindra's Scorpio had managed to sell about 50,000 units of Scorpio annually in the past, and the new face-lifted version is expected to surpass those sales number. Overall the drive quality has also been improved due to double wishbone type independent coil spring at the front and multi-link coil spring with anti-roll bar suspension at the rear.
The New Mahindra Scorpio has received dual airbags for the driver and front passenger seat occupant. The aggressively styled headlamp has received projector lights that has been integrated with LED running lamps. The all new new Mahindra Scorpio SUV continues to be powered by 2.5 litre, four cylinder, m2DiCr, turbocharged common rail diesel engine and delivers impressive power output of about 75 bhp at 3200 Rpm and delivers a peak torque output of about 200 Nm between 1400 to 2200 RPM.
For safety, Mahindra has included world-class safety equipments like ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system and rear parking sensors in the the new Scorpio. The front wheels get ventilated disc brakes, whereas the rear gets drum brakes. For entertainment, the new Scorpio is loaded with 6 inch touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth, DVD, USB and AUX-in capability. Apart from this, the vehicle also gets GPS, rain and light sensors, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and steering mounted audio controls along with cruise control function.
