The country’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) is all set to mark its re-entry in the premium car segment of the country with launching new versions of its premium sedans, Elantra and Sonata. Both of these cars will be marking their debut in the country over the period of next two months.

Speaking to the reporters on the matter, Hyundai Motors India Limited’s, Director (Marketing & Sales) Arvind Saxena said, "We would fill the vacuum in the premium car space with two new cars lined up this year."

The all new Hyundai Sonata will be launched in the Indian market next month where it will be competing with the likes of Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.

It is to be mentioned here that the Hyundai India has been absent in the mid-size car segment for quite some time now, as it had discontinued its Elantra model a few year back. It has been widely speculated that the new Hyundai Elantra model will be rolled-out in the Indian market in the second quarter of this calendar year, in the price segment of Rs 10-13 lakh. The all new Elantra will be taking on with the rivals like Honda Civic, Renault Fluence, Chevrolet Cruze and Skoda Laura.

While further elaborating these new cars, Mr. Saxena said, "Both these are global models developed on the same aggressive 'fluidic design concept' that has been accepted well by Indian customer in the new Verna making it the segment leader in mid-size cars."
