The 2014 Honda City, which arrived in India just over two weeks ago, has been now launched in Thailand. While the Indian version comes in both, the petrol and diesel guise, Honda is offering the sedan with only one petrol engine in Thailand, in six different variants with a price range of 550,000 Baht (INR 10.40 lakh) - 749,000 Baht (INR 14.20 lakh). The 2014 Honda City sedan is based on the company's 'Exciting H Design' ideology, where 'H' implies the human center i.e. the driver and passengers. Another concept to figure in the scheme of the development of the new Honda City was the 'Man Maximum, Machine Minimum' concept.
Powered by the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine under the hood, the new Honda City now delivers a power output of 117bhp @ 6,000rpm and a torque of 146Nm @ 4,700rpm. The new CVT transmission has also been amplified with enhanced gear ratios and a G-Design shift. Moving on to the safety provisions, the sedan now houses a range of standard safety solutions including Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), available on all the variants. Furthermore, Honda has now loaded the car with six airbags (Dual SRS, i-Side Airbags, and Side Curtain Airbags) in addition to a multi-angle rearview camera with three-level adjustment.
Talking about the entertainment supplies in the car, the all-new sedan gets an audio system with a 7" touch screen. And as far as comfort is concerned, Honda has added an automatic air conditioning system with a luxurious and user-friendly touch control panel, a one-push ignition system, Honda smart key system, and a multi-function steering wheel that sports a 7-speed paddle shift.
