      New BMW 6 Series Coupe version coming next month

      BMW India seems to have decided to leave no stone unturned in the Indian market to be ahead of rivals like Audi and Mercedes Benz. The company is planning to launch new coupe versions of its 6 Series and 3 Series sedans in the country, over the period of remaining four months of this calendar year.

       The first among these is 6 Series coupe that is expected to hit the Indian roads in September 2011. This will be followed by 3 Series Coupe by this year end. Even after having a price tag of Rs 60 lakh, the BMW 6 Series model has clocked sales of 60 units in the country, since March 2011.

       In a recent statement given by Dr. Andreas Schaaf, president BMW India, at the occasion of the launch of all new BMW X3 luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Pune, BMW said that it has 40 percent of market share in the last two years. The company aims to sell up to 10,000 units of its cars this year, accounting for a staggering share of 49 percent of the Indian luxury car market.

       In the first seven months of this calendar year, BMW has sold a total of 5364 cars in the country.  The German auto giant is currently the largest luxury car maker in the Indian market, followed by Audi and Mercedes Benz at second and third spots respectively.
