The fifth generation Audi A4 for the global market and second generation for India will finally be launched in the country tomorrow. The globally popular sedan is not just lighter by about 95kgs but also offers more space to the occupants. Post launch, the new Audi A4 will compete against the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Jaguar XF.
Under the hood, the new Audi A4 will get a 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch AT which generates 148bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. The German automaker might also introduce a diesel version which will be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI engine at a later date. The new second generation Audi A4 for India is based on the Volkswagen’s MLBevo platform. In terms of exterior upgrades, the front comes with a new sharp hexagonal grille and sharp headlamps with split DRLs.
Speaking about the interior, the new Audi A4 gets new dashboard layout and panels. The vehicle also gets more enhanced upholstery for a premium feel. The dashboard also features a 12.3 inch TFT display which also allows the driver to customise the layout of the speedo and tachometer dials as and when required. Along with all modern safety features, the new generation of the premium sedan will also come loaded with dual zone climate control, rear AC vents, advanced MMI infotainment system and much more. The price for the new Audi A4 will be revealed tomorrow. We anticipate it to be priced between Rs 33 lakh – Rs 38 lakh.
