      Japanese bike-maker Yamaha has stood a class apart on global race circuits. Yamaha India had recently organized the National Technician Grand Prix 2014 with an aim to strengthen its Customer Service Engagement activity in the country. Speaking more on the occasion, Ravinder Singh, Vice President, Strategy & Planning, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd, said, “This contest seeks to raise the service mechanic’s consciousness of their importance in the Yamaha business, stimulate the desire for improvement and strengthen the Yamaha Service. With such unique initiatives we go one step ahead to accomplish customer delight instead of mere customer satisfaction and create differentiation for ourselves.”

      The event witnessed about 932 contestants who engaged in a headlock competition for the coveted title. The event also was of special importance as it would give some of them a good opportunity to be a part of World Technician Grand Prix (WTGP) 2016 that would be held in Japan. 100 winners were selected in the regional round based on 4 Zones in the Zonal Round. It was from here that 20 winners i.e. five winners from each zone, were selected to compete in the final round.

      The event was won by an individual named Chandan Kumar from Empee Motor based in Chandigarh. Whereas, the seconf price went to Santosh Kumar of Shree Kunj Automobile, Jagadhari, Haryana, and the third place was claimed by Swapnil Nagvekar of Naman Auto Sales, Alibag, Maharashtra. These contestant emerged winners post judging them in areas like - Theory, trouble shooting, repair on actual motorcycles and skill of dealing with customers.
