Mitsubishi, the Japanese automaker, will launch the new Outlander and Montero facelift in the Indian car market this year. If media reports are to be believed, the updated Outlander SUV will be unveiled at the 2015 New York Motor Show, scheduled to commence in April this year.
The current generation Outlander was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and is now three year old. The company is now ready to give a major facelift to the SUV, which is likely to be inspired by the Outlander PHEV Concept S that was presented to audience at the Paris Motor Show in October, 2014.
Recently, Hindustan Motor Finance Corporation (HMFCL) revealed its plans of launching new Outlander facelift in the Indian car market this year. The company plans of introducing the petrol version of the SUV in India with manual and automatic transmissions, while a diesel version of the SUV will come to our market next year.
The Mitsubishi Outlander facelift is likely to get new front and rear, which is inspired from the PHEV concept. Inside the cabin, the SUV will get the newly designed dashboard trims and advanced touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV is expected to get a plug-in hybrid variant, and new 2.0- and 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engines. The previous generation Outlander available in our market was powered by a 2.4-litre petrol engine coupled to a CVT gearbox.
