Yet another luxury brand variant is slated to foray into the Indian car market next month. German car maker Mercedes is ready to introduce SLS AMG in New Delhi on 15th July, 2010. The model will be priced over Rs. 2 crores and Mercedes has already found its takers since it was first introduced at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010 earlier this year. The Mercedes Benz SLS AMG’s structure is made of aluminium alloy which aeronautical engineers use while constructing an Airbus. It features gull-wing doors and is powered by a 6.3-litre V8 front-mid-engine develops 571 hp and 650 Nm of torque.
The model will be imported as a completely built unit and will have high level of customisation according to customer specifications who have made prior bookings. "The new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG dazzles with its purist design, intelligent lightweight construction and superior handling dynamics, and is bound to cause a sensation in the super sports car segment,” said Dr. Aulbur, Mercedes – Benz Chief at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010.
SLS AMG is set to cruise at high speeds and is stable during braking. Accelerating SLS AMG from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3.8 seconds is made possible by 6.3L V8 thumping under its hood. SLS AMG gives a mileage of 7.5 kmpl, which is best in its class.
