Mercedes-Benz, the renowned manufacturer from Stuttgart, is planning to introduce a number of entry level C-Class variants. All these new models will be lined up in the low-price slab of the C-line products. European markets will be the first ones to get these new products. It is expected that the new products will also be seen in the county, though there have been no confirmed reports from Mercedes India. Both the models, C160 as well as C200, will be launched with four-wheel drive.

The C160 model will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine, which is capable of producing 129 bhp power at a torque output of 210 Nm. This enables the car to accelerate to 100 kilometres per hour from rest in 9.6 seconds only. The manufacturer has revealed that the fuel economy of this model is 5.2 litres for every 100 kilometres. The C200 diesel variant will be placed a step below the C220 and will be slightly lesser priced than its higher model. Mercedes is also employed to bring a C-Class coupe, which has been spotted recently in a camouflage. It is expected that the official debut of this model will be held at the 66th Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

As far as the spy shots have revealed, the new car will get a sloping roofline adding that extra measure of finesse to the car. Gordon Wagener, the Mercedes design head had earlier said that the C-Class Coupe will be more beautiful and sleeker than the S-Class Coupe. It will be more agile to drive on comparison because of its compact nature.

The C-Class Coupe, which is also known as the C63 S Coupe, has been modelled on the MRA platform, same as the sedan. It thus, has the same engine as the other models. It will also be provided with the twin-turbo V8 4.0-litre mill.
