Mercedes-Benz India will launch the A-Class hatchback in its refreshed avatar on December 8. This car will be the 15th new product under the ’15 in 15’ strategy followed by the carmaker for the Indian market this year.

The hatchback gets additional colour options including the new green colour as seen in the pictures. The facelifted A Class gets some styling enhancements and additional features. Upfront is a reworked headlamp design with optional LED headlamps and LED DRLs. The fascia sports a new front bumper, restyled air intakes and the three-pointed star has also changed. The car sports a new pattern for the alloy wheels and changes at the back include a revised taillight detailing, a new diffuser and integrated dual exhaust tips.

The interior of the A-Class gets a new instrument console and a new multifunction steering wheel. The carmaker has also introduced new colour themes, trims and revised seats. The cabin also features a new eight-inch COMAND infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink smartphone connectivity.

The Indian market only gets the Mercedes-Benz A-Class as the A180 in the petrol guise and the A200 in the diesel trim. The 1.6-litre petrol mill produces 121bhp of power and 200Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel unit churns out 134bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. There are no upgrades to this powertrain, but the company has changed the ‘CDI’ nomenclature to 'd' to denote the diesel variants.

The 2016 iteration of the A-Class gets updates that add to the appeal of the premium hatchback. Mercedes-Benz might price it at Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom) as it will go on to compete with the Mini Cooper D and the Volvo V40 in the luxury hatchback segment in India.
