Since the first compact version of Swift was released in India in 2005, domestic buyers were appeased by its stylish looks. With a bulging rear and a steeply curved bonnet, the car became an optimal choice for youths as well as grown ups. Soon it dominated the Indian roads and topped the premium hatchback category as well. Also, the prodigious sales of Swift increased the shares of Maruti Suzuki in the domestic auto market immensely.

The company was so elated by the success of its premium hatchback that it decided to introduce the diesel variant of the same. The achievement was again remarkable and by the end of 2011, the auto manufacturer launched third generation swift flaunting a revamped yet striking design on exteriors as well as interiors. The new generation Swift carried a 1.2-litre K-series petrol and 1.3-litre Fiat Multi-jet diesel engine, both squeezing a superb power output for the cars' fine performance.

Once again, keeping up with customers changing requirements, Maruti Suzuki has decided to to give Swift a facial uplift. The all new modified hatchback will feature some tweaks at exteriors and interior as well. Top end models of Swift might display the unique features of cruise control, keyless entry with push start button and a dual tone dashboard. Furthermore, an optional 16-inch alloy wheel and a reformed front grille will be available for the elite class of customers. The engine specifications would remain the same as the ongoing model but the new car might bear a price tag Rs. 50,000 more than the current version of Swift. This news is already tempting domestic buyers and existing Swift owners and it will be worth watching what the final outcome is.
