The concept of a limited edition model has been prevalent in India for several years now and companies have had a lot of success with the same. Mostly, brands that are celebrated in the country launch limited edition models of their cars, for instance the Maruti Suzuki Elate, a limited edition version of the Ritz hatchback introduced by the country’s most popular passenger car manufacturer. Needless to say, Maruti Suzuki knows how to sell its products and this model is indeed a limited model.

Just like all other limited edition models launched in the country, Maruti Suzuki Elate also has several added features and changes, which make it unique. The price of this model is expected to be 25000 above the regular model. So let’s take a look at what makes this model a limited edition one rather than just a badge on its body.

Maruti Suzuki, known for its customer satisfaction levels, has done a great deal of work in adding features to Elate, making it a limited edition model. In the first place, a 2-DIN music system with speakers has been provided in Maruti Suzuki Elate along with Bluetooth stereo and telephony kit. To make it a better looking model, the manufacturer has changed body graphic, ambient lighting and steering wheel cover.

The comfort levels of customers are enhanced by multipurpose bag, reverse parking sensors, door visors, floor mats and neck cushions. Though they sound a lot but the changes made in the Maruti Suzuki Elate are really minor and the engine options offered are identical as the regular model. The petrol variant of Maruti Suzuki Elate is powered by a K-Series 4-cylinder 1.2-litre engine that churns an output of 85 bhp along with peak torque of 113 Nm. The petrol model of this car offers a mileage of around 18.5 kmpl.

Diesel version of this car, on the other hand, is powered by a multi-jet turbo diesel 1.3-litre, which has been sourced from Italian company Fiat. This engine helps the Maruti Suzuki Elate to produce an output of 75 bhp and peak torque of 190 Nm of peak torque. The fuel economy of this model is expected to be around 23.2 kmpl. Industry experts feel that all these factors and additions make this model truly limited edition.

The price of this car has not been announced yet but Maruti Suzuki Elate, placed just under the Swift, is expected to cost around INR 4.25 lakh for petrol and INR 5.29 lakh for diesel (ex-showroom, New Delhi). According to statistics, Maruti Suzuki Ritz generates sales of around 3000 per month and the limited edition is going to push sales further, thereby improving its position in the market. To make things better for customers, Maruti Suzuki has decided to offer a discount of up to INR 65000 on Ritz that will be bifurcated into INR 30000 cash and INR 35000 exchange bonus.
