After galore speculations and rumours on launch date of MSI’s eagerly awaited Ciaz, there is finally a date we can look up to for the sedan’s debut in India. In line with the previous information of being launched in first week of October, a close source has revealed that MSI could unleash Ciaz on October 5th. MSI dealers started accepting pre-launch bookings effective beginning of September at a token amount of Rs 21,000. Being a crucial launch for MSI, the company is leaving no stone unturned to promote the sedan, a TVC featuring Ranveer Singh is already out.
The sedan possesses boastful dimensions, it measures 4490 mm long, 1730 mm wide, 1485 mm in height and offers a wheelbase of 2650 mm.
The SX4 replacement sports an appealing outer appearance, in the front is a trapezoidal chrome grille flanked by larger angular shaped projector headlights. Bumper is equipped with wide air dam and a set of fog lamps. Side profile features simple lines that run across the length of the sedan. Rear showcases tail-lights and air scoops incorporated into the bumper, this arrangement reminds one of Honda City sedan.
High end variant will come fitted with 16 inch alloy wheels. To make the cabin look classier, MSI has used good quality material, two-tone colour scheme gels well with the interior ambiance. Equipment list includes a touch screen unit, radio, USB/AUX and SD-Card, Bluetooth interface, in-built navigation system among others.
Power will be supplied through a 1.4 litre K10B petrol engine and a 1.3 litre Fiat sourced MJD engine. The 1.4 litre petrol engine is good for 91 Bhp while the 1.3 litre diesel powertrain develops top power of 89 Bhp. Maruti claims Ciaz to be the most frugal sedan or vehicle in the country at 26.21 kmpl of fuel economy vouched to be delivered by its diesel variant. As for the petrol variant, it is likely to return 20.73 kmpl which is decent enough.
