Snapped undergoing test runs across the country at various occasions, Maruti Suzuki Alto facelift is expected to be launched in India in the beginning of next calendar year. If rumours are to be believed the petite offering from MSI could break cover in January next year. Sources close to the development opine that the facelift variant of Alto K10 looks similar to its sibling Alto 80. The various tweaks made on the exteriors include large swept-back head lights, newly designed front grille, redesigned front bumper and modified rear profile. The facelift variant will carry forward the 13 inch alloy wheels equipped in the current model.

Speculations suggest that the new version of Alto K10 hatchback will be rolled out in a total of three variants including LXi, LXi+ and VXi. The entry level LXi variant is expected to come incorporated with features like air-conditioning with heater and power steering as a standard fare. The next variant pegs up a tad in terms of equipment list with the inclusion of features such as wheel caps, other than this the high end model is likely to get body-coloured ORVMs and door handles, door protection mouldings, front power windows, rear parcel tray and central locking.

Engine configuration is expected to be retained and the new Alto K10 is likely to be powered with the same 998 cc, three cylinder engine that is capable of belting out top power output of 68 PD along with peak torque of 90 Nm. The engine will be matched to a five-speed manual gearbox. The hatchback is also expected to be rolled out in CNG and AMT variant.
