      Markus Braunsperger, designer for BMW X7 joins Hero MotoCorp

      Markus Braunsperger, the man behind the stylish BMW X7 SUV shall now take over the responsibility as the head of research and development division of Hero MotoCorp. As per reports the Rs. 500 division may be set-up in Kukas, Jaipur. Braunsperger has a strong career spanning about 25 years with the BMW group; he has also been a part of BMW’s Research and Development in-charge of two-wheeler Motorrad division.

      As quoted to HT by senior officials from the company, “He is the first expat appointed to head a division at Hero MotoCorp, and will spearhead the firm’s future product development initiatives. The Rs. 500 crore R&D centre at Kukas is expected to be ready by the middle of next fiscal. It will have more than 600 engineers working on Hero’s future product line.” Braunsperger has also been a part of design team for BMW’s 5/6/7 series along with SUVs fleet like X3, X5 and X7.

      Pawan Munjal, Managing director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp said, “The facility in Kukas will be an international centre of excellence, not just in terms of its design, development, testing and validation facilities but also in terms of the diversified pool of human talent from all over the world. It will be a multi-cultural, multi-national set up.”

      The new development is likely to benefit Hero MotoCorp in a big way and enable the World’s largest bikemaker launch bikes with international styling and performance. Share prices have already risen by 1.2% higher at Rs. 2,566.95, thereby indicating a good future ahead.
