Mahindra and Mahindra has posted a growth of 8 per cent in overall sales in December 2017. The company sold 39,200 vehicles last month as against 36,464 cars delivered to customers in the same month in 2016.

Mahindra sales up by 8 per cent in December 2017

Mahindra's domestic sales also increased by 7 per cent with 36,979 units sold last month as against 34,411 vehicles sold in the year-ago period. This includes commercial vehicles and if we were to look at passenger vehicles alone, there is a drop in numbers here. Only 15,543 cars were sold in December 2017 as compared to 16,799 units sold in December 2016.

Thankfully, there was an increment of 24 per cent in the sale of commercial vehicles with 17,542 units sold last month as against 14,154 units in December 2016. The exports also increased by 8 per cent to 2,221 units last month as against 2,053 units in the previous year. We can expect Mahindra to launch a few new cars including an upcoming MPV (U321) for the Indian market. Let's hope some of these new products help the carmaker to increase the sales in their passenger vehicle segment.
