Mahindra Renault exported its first shipment of 200 Logans to South Africa. The shipment shipped on Saturday will mark the entry of Mahindra Renault Logan in South African market. It will be the third export market for Logan as the model is already being currently exported to Mauritius and Nepal. Logan made its entry in Nepal this August as completely built units.

“We are exploring all right hand markets. We will soon export Logan to a few more countries,” said Chief Executive Office, Mahindra Renault. He also stated that limited edition of Logan Edge has fared well in the country as it will reach its internal target of 500 units by third week of October itself. Logan Edge was launched in India in July 2008. It is priced between Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 7.15 lakh and is available in petrol as well as diesel models.

Mahindra Renault is also planning to launch two more upgraded versions of Logan in a fortnight. It has already sold nearly 33,000 units of Logan since it was first launched in May 2007. The company also realises the importance of fuel efficient cars and has adopted the strategy to introduce these cars in various markets. Out of the 33000 units sold so far, nearly 70 percent have been diesel cars.
