Mahindra 2-wheelers has witnessed an exemplary year of sales by achieving a 252 per cent inflation in its annual growth last year. This was majorly driven with the high demand of Mahindra Centuro in domestic market, and rural areas contributed a larger share in the company's overall units. The auto maker is exulted with such a performance and in a bid to continue the success streak, it plans to introduce a new performance bike called Mojo. The bike is expected to be showcased at Auto Expo 2014 and Mahindra Two Wheelers is fully geared to make this motorcycle a highlight of the auto fiesta.

At present, Indian auto market is perceiving the likes of Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki incepting with their performance bike. A trend has been started by the aforementioned companies and Mahindra plans to enter its contender in the outgoing battle in respective bike segment. Mahindra Mojo was first unveiled in 2010 and since then auto aficionados are peering into the bikes final launch. Chief reason for such a hype of this motorbike is that it will be a product from the legendary home grown auto maker who is renowned for its splendid innovations.

Mahindra Mojo is expected to be incorporated with a 300 cc, liquid cooled, 4-valve DOHC engine which will produce a power output of 25 bhp at 8500 rpm, and peak torque of 24 Nm at 7000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox is coupled with the engine and sources are speculating that it will be named VPI-2. Also, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) will not be offered in this bike and instead it will be assisted with petal discs at front and rear. Suspension types of Paioli upside-down forks and gas charged mono-shocks will be used at front and rear, respectively. It must be noted that this bike will have Pirelli Sport Demon tyres which are known for their stupendous grip on uneven terrains. Also, multi-spoke alloy wheels will be enhancing the looks of Mahindra Mojo. Furthermore, dual exhausts are provided in this bike which give a sporty look to the whole attire.

It is anticipated that the cost of Mahindra Mojo will be somewhere around Rs. 1.6 lakh. In such a range, it will be facing direct competition with the likes of Honda CBR 300R and KTM 390 Duke. Although the former is yet to be launched, the latter has been launched previous year and has gained lauds from auto experts. At such a point, it will be interesting to see how Mahindra manages its top-notch brand image in 2-wheeler market and publicise its new bike on a wide platform.
