Mahindra and Mahindra has been known to deliver rugged cars in the Utility vehicle segment in the country. Apart from the compay being known to deliver technologically advanced cars, this time around the company is also known for empowering its managers to undertake risks. Pawan Goenka, Popularly known as ‘Father of Scorpio’, holds the position of executive director at Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M). He says, “Empowerment means you have the freedom to explore, take risks. Leaders here are fully engaged in taking their initiatives forward. A lot of M&M growth initiatives come from people down the line, not from the top.”
Official statement from Mahindra reads, “We are committed to empowering and developing leadership talent. We want our leadership team to have the knowledge, skills and experience they need to compete on the world stage.” Anand Mahindra, the group’s Chairman has been known to delegate power to his people. Moreover, he is also known send out tweets acknowledging the efforts put-in by his resources and praising them for a job well done.
Sharing his views, Mahindra added, “For a manufacturing company to have so much entrepreneurial spirit as M&M has is rare. Most manufacturing companies do not empower their people. But my experience is that when you are truly empowered, you will always make the right decisions."
