      Mahindra and Mahindra announces its plans on launching new vehicles for next year

      India's one of leading player in the automotive sector Mahindra and Mahindra has been planning on launching three new vehicles in the domestic market sometime in 2015. To further penetrate its footing in the Indian utility vehicle segment, among the three, the company may bring-in two new compact SUV's in the country.

      Speaking more on the occasion, Pawan Goenka, Executive Director at Mahindra and Mahindra said, “We were slow on launches in 2013 and 2014. Now we are back with new launches. In 2015, we will launch two sub-4 meter compact SUVs and one light commercial vehicle. All the three would come on completely new platforms.” Reportedly, the company is also in process of developing a new engine series with the collaboration of its Korean arm Ssangyong. A while ago Mahindra and Mahindra had also hinted on its plans to invest an additional amount of about Rs 4,000 crore at its Chakan facility taking its total investment in the plant to about Rs 8,000 crore, to upgrade its production capacity to about 7.5 Lakh units annually. Back in 2013, the company had stated its plans of investing about Rs. 10,000 crore in three years for its plant upliftment.

      Speaking more on Mahindra's plans with recently acquired Peugeot Motorcycles, Pawan Goenka said, “We are looking at ASEAN region, particularly Vietnam, North African countries and India to launch products from the Peugeot Motocycle portfolio. The products in their current avatar would not be feasible for India due to pricing. We will have to do some market research as see what products would suit Indian requirements.”
