      Lexus to introduce Hybrid range in India

      For a while now reports have been emerging that the internationally popular Lexus brand may likely make it to India soon. This time around, sources believe that Lexus shall be introducing Hybrid based cars to the Indian market sometime by August this year. For now, its India partner Toyota Kirloskar Motors offers the Camry Hybrid in the country. The models that could likely be introduced in India by Lexus are – RX compact SUV and the GS 450h and LS600h sedans.

      The Lexus RX 450h would be powered by 3.5-litre V6 engine mated to electric motor that generates about 305bhp of power and 362Nm of torque. The powerful engine comes mated to ECVT automatic transmission that is capable of clocking a 0 – 100km/h in just about 7.7 seconds. The vehicle would be capable of attaining a top speed of about 180 km/h. in terms of dimensions it would measure about 1895mm in width, wheelbase of 2789mm and height of about 1720mm. As for safety, the vehicle would be loaded with radar cruise control, 10 airbags, parking assist, pre collision system with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, rear parking camera and vehicle stability control.

      The Lexus GS 450h sedan would be powered by 3.5 litre V6 engine mated to electric engine that would generate about 335Bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. The vehicle comes mated to ECVT gearbox that helps it achieve a top speed of about 220km/h. The vehicle is capable of doing a 0-100km/h in just about 5.6-seconds. While in terms of dimensions it measures about 4880 mm in length, 1455 mm in height, 1839 mm in width along with wheelbase measuring about 2850mm. As for safety it would be loaded with lane keep assist, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist and dynamic radar cruise control.

      The Lexus LS 600h on the other hand would be powered by 5.0 litre V8 engine mated with an electric motor to generate about 435bhp of power and 522Nm of torque. Featuring an ECVT automatic transmission the vehicle may be capable of attaining a top speed of about 210 km/h and does a 0-100 km/h in just about 5.5 seconds. Speaking on features, it comes loaded with pre-collision system with dynamic radar cruise control, driver attention monitor, lane keep assist and much more.
