Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali has disclosed that the Urus sports crossover will produce 650bhp. The carmaker also went on to add that the plug-in hybrid version of the Urus should debut in the European market a year after the regular model is introduced in the second quarter of 2018.

Furthermore, the carmaker has also confirmed that the Urus will get the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 motor, which puts the earlier speculations to rest. Reports state that Lamborghini expects the Urus sports crossover to do exceedingly well for them, especially when you factor that sales of SUVs/crossovers have been at an all-time high, of late.

Sources add that the carmaker plans to build about 1,000 Urus’ in the year 2018 and increase the output to around 3,500 units by the end of 2019. Lamborghini has already commenced production of the Urus last month, and judging by our past experiences, we should have spy shots of this sports crossover in the days to follow. Stay tuned to CarTrade for more information regarding Lamborghini’s plans for the Urus sports crossover.
