Max Verstappen will drive for Red Bull starting next Formula One Grand Prix in Catalunya Spain. The seat at Toro Rosso will once again be occupied by Danii Kvyat, following the opening lap incident in his home GP in Russia last weekend.

Danii hit Sebastian Vettel twice on the first lap of the race, knocking the former champion out of the race and drawing severe criticism for his actions. The demotion that is probably a result of the incident also gives the eighteen-year-old Max a chance to display his talent in the bigger team. He will join Daniel Ricciardo, as Kvyat will line up alongside Carlos Sainz Jr.

Confirming the mid-season changes, Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner said, "Max has proven to be an outstanding young talent; his performance at Toro Rosso has been impressive so far and we are pleased to give him the opportunity to drive for Red Bull. We are in the unique position to have all four drivers across Red Bull and Toro Rosso under long term contracts with Red Bull, so we have the flexibility to move them between the two teams."
