Commemoration of completion of time milestones by launching anniversary edition vehicles is a norm that has been followed in the automobile industry for a long time now and iconic bike maker Kawasaki did the same recently. The Ninja series of motorcycles has been, arguably, the most popular series from the Japanese manufacturer and will complete 30 years soon, to mark the memory of which a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R 2015 Anniversary edition was unveiled recently.

Kawasaki will complete three decades of producing Ninja bikes in late 2014 and sources claim that the firm wants to mark this occasion by doing something special for its customers and nothing was better than launching a special edition of one of its most famous models. The anniversary edition of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R is not going to be just any bike, it has been designed to pay homage to Ninja 1984 Ninja 900, an iconic model said to be the ‘King of the Streets’.

Several experts and analysts consider 1984 Kawasaki Ninja 900 to be a trend-setting model and a bike that was ahead of its times. Said to be a predecessor to sports bikes in the modern day world, 1984 Kawasaki Ninja 900 was the first motorcycle to feature a 16-valve liquid cooled in-line four cylinder engine, which makes it quite special. Another amazing fact is that the Japanese bike maker was involved in its conceptualisation, designing and production secretively for over half a decade before it was eventually launched in the market.

1984 Kawasaki Ninja 900 was powered by a 908 cc four-cylinder engine that had the ability to churn out around 114.5 BHP of power. In addition, it was the first stock road bike in the world that crossed the 240 kmph speed barrier, reaching a top figure of 243 kmph, which was quite incredible.

The Japanese manufacturer has done everything it can to create a striking resemblance with the old vehicle, keeping the design and the colour scheme same. Kawasaki 30th Anniversary Edition Ninja ZX-14R will feature a similar two-tone paint scheme, including Metallic Graystone and Firecracker Red, which were used in the legendary model. The addition of narrow gold pinstriping along with gold brake callipers takes the resemblance to another level.

To mark the anniversary, the new Kawasaki 30th Anniversary Edition Ninja ZX-14R will get special logos on fairing sides along with numbered badges on gas tank to mark the exclusivity of the model. Albeit the look of Limited Edition models is going to be a totally different, the technical specifications are going to remain the same, having features present in the current model.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R is powered by a liquid cooled four-cylinder in-line engine that boasts of a capacity of 1441cc. Featuring a DFI fuel system, the engine of this bike is mated to a six-speed gear box and has TCBI with Digital Advance ignition. Some of the other features present in this bike include increased engine displacement, Kawasaki Traction Control and Supersport Handling.

The limited edition models of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R will only be sold in markets in United States of America and Latin America along with being 300 in number. In addition, Kawasaki has already given out graphics for Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-6R in 30th Edition style.
