      Jaguar XE arrives on September 8 in London

      Popular luxury carmaker Jaguar had revealed the launch date for the new XE premium saloon on September 8, 2014. With XE, Jaguar eyes inducting new aluminium intensive lightweight construction technology in this segment. Reportedly the Jaguar XE shall feature a new grade of high strength aluminium called 'RC 5754' which has been specifically developed for this model.

      The all new XE has been designed and engineered in UK and the company plans on manufacturing new XE at its new purpose-built production unit at the Solihull plant located in West Midlands in UK. Jaguar XE is also being claimed as the most fuel economic vehicle produced ever by Jaguar. It has been learnt from sources that the fuel consumption level has been reduced substantially and the saloon is likely to run up to 25 kms on a litre. Lightweight vehicles have been the agenda on JLR’s priority for its Jaguar brand that primarily offers premium saloons. Other renowned and popular vehicle offered by Jaguar such as Jaguar XJ, Jaguar XK and F-Type have been developed in tandem with this technology. XE is the new model from the stables of Jaguar that has been built using aerospace-inspired technology. The saloon will gun straight against the likes of Mercedes Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series.

      Jaguar officials have have confirmed that the new alloy has been built with copious use of recycled material that goes in line with the company’s aim of using 75 per cent recycled material by 2020. The aluminium-intensive body structure surpasses all global safety fundamentals, though the company has not at any point endangered design or refinement of the vehicle. Speaking more about the car Mark White, Jaguar’s chief technical specialist said, “The Jaguar XE body uses over 75 per cent aluminium, which far exceeds any other car in its class. We’ve made sure our aluminium-intensive body structure exceeds all global safety standards without compromising on vehicle design or refinement.”
