At present, the Indian arm of Land Rover already has a diverse product portfolio in the country including several great premium SUVs, such as Discovery 4, Freelander 2, Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport. The soon to be launched 2013 Range Rover was first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show held in September 2012, where it received much adulation and fame from both automobile industry and media alike. Since then, the Indian imported luxury car aficionados have been keeping a close watch and keeping their fingers crossed towards launch of the new stylish and uber-cool Land Rover.

The 2013 Land Rover Range Rover SUV is anticipated to come fitted with a V8 4.4 Litre petrol and diesel powerplants, besides being mated with an advanced eight speed automatic transmission system. The cutting edge and much fawned upon V8 powertrians are expected to deliver an impressive power close to 350 bhp along with a mammoth of a torque output around 700 Nm. The 2013 Range Rover could accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds, and could reach a top speed of 217 kmph. Further, the latest Land Rover has been given a five star rating in the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) test, which determines the performance of safety and security attributes of a car. In 2011, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque had also been given similar rating in the Euro NCAP test.

The 2013 Land Rover Range Rover will be pitched in the Indian imported luxury and sports car market, against the likes of BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne, upon its launch. Hence, there is going to be some stiff competition between the British and German origin premium SUVs on domestic turf in the near future.
